About Us
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with unique abilities discover their strengths, build independence, and create meaningful opportunities for life beyond school.
Our Story
The Florida Institute for Community Inclusion was founded with a vision to create more opportunities for individuals with autism and other unique abilities.
Our co-founder, Dr. Lisa B. Jester, was inspired by her sister Alice's journey and by the challenges many families face when preparing for the transition from school into adulthood.
What began as a personal mission grew into an organization focused on creating educational, employment, life-skills, and community-based opportunities that help individuals build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.
Today, we continue working toward a future where every person is valued for who they are and has opportunities to learn, grow, participate, and belong.
Our Mission
To create opportunities that help individuals with unique abilities build independence, discover their strengths, prepare for the future, and participate meaningfully in their communities.
Our Logo
Our butterfly represents individuality, growth, inclusion, and the belief that every person has their own strengths and possibilities.
What Families Say
“She enjoys going there; they give her tasks, they keep her busy, and she likes the routine. With these types of programs, she enjoys herself.”
